Order registration and statistical registration

Various companies operate in the field of importing various goods and products. One of the most important conditions for entering the goods and clearing them from the customs is to register an order, and without doing this operation, it is not possible to clear the goods from the relevant customs in any way. Therefore, merchants should pay attention to this point that at the beginning of their activities, they should contact the company. The exporter should have the necessary correspondence and after that register the order and finally receive the relevant goods from the customs.

What is order registration?

If you intend to import products and goods to the country, you must first visit the Iranian Trade System website and register an order for the goods there. Order registration is a license issued by the Development and Trade Organization, and after receiving this license, you can import the desired product into the country. After placing the order, you will receive an 8-digit code, which is the license to import the desired product into the country.  Thus, by this way, you can easily import the goods you bought into the country.  For registering the goods, not only it is necessary to have the 8-digit code, but also some information such as the registration date, registration number and the name of the applicant company must be correctly registered. It should be noted that in some cases, the number of registered goods may be more than the amount stated in the order registration. In such cases, you must receive separate sheets issued by the Iran Trade Development Organization and write the names of other products in it, and then the fee will be charged separately from the order registration. In general, the order registration amount changes every year and its price will be determined in the government budget plan. Registering the order gives the government the opportunity to, apart from the technical issues that it should be aware of, analyze the goods entering the country in a statistical manner and have the statistics related to all the goods.

Prohibited items

You should note that the import of a product into the country is based on the laws and regulations set in that country. Today, the import of more than 1,500 products into the country is prohibited, so if you plan to engage in import, it is better to first look at the list of prohibited goods so as not to suffer in this field.

Types of order registration

• Based on payment
  

  To place an order, you must have the relevant currency in your possession, the source of which can be bank or non-bank. For example, in order registration based on bank currency, we are faced with various categories such as cash, term, collection bill and bank transfer. But on the other side, currencies that have non-bank origin, such as without currency transfer, import versus export, and foreign currency applicant currency can be stated.

• Order registration without currency transfer
  

  It is not always necessary to register the order based on the government’s currency, because some products such as fabric, cigars, computer parts, car parts, and components and parts required for production that have a license to operate from the Ministry of Industries, do not need to transfer currency. You can easily place the relevant order.

• Order registration based on Usance
  

  It is one of the most common methods of placing an order, in which a deadline for payment is set according to the custom of two countries.

• Order registration based on term letters of credit
  

  In this method, a receipt date for payment is determined by both companies. Therefore, if the beneficiary applies for the payment of the documents earlier than the due date, it is not possible to receive the payment, and as a result, the payment time is on the due date.

• Order registration based on visual letter of credit
  

  In this method, the beneficiary goes to the desired bank and then delivers the desired documents regarding the payment of the goods to the bank in person. After careful review and if there are no problems with the documents and credits, the payment will be made without any problems.
